What to Include in Your Enquiry

The more of this you can give us, the more useful our first reply will be:

• Your address or suburb - geology varies across Cape Town, so this shapes everything else

If You Have an Existing Borehole Problem

For a fault on an existing system, describing the symptom precisely gets you a far more useful response than reporting that the borehole is not working. Useful detail includes what exactly happens, when it started, whether it came on suddenly or gradually, and whether anything was worked on beforehand. Before You Drill

Two things worth knowing before you commit to anything. Boreholes and wellpoints in the City of Cape Town must be registered with the City, and abstraction beyond reasonable domestic use may require registration or authorisation from the Department of Water and Sanitation. Confirm your position before drilling rather than afterwards.

And nobody can guarantee that a borehole will find water. A water survey improves the odds, but the risk is real and any contractor offering certainty is overselling.
