We drill boreholes and build the water systems that go with them, for properties across Cape Town and the surrounding Western Cape. That covers the whole sequence - deciding where to drill, drilling and constructing the hole, establishing what it yields and what is in the water, and installing the pump, storage and treatment that turn it into a supply you can use.
What We Do
Borehole work splits into three broad areas, and we work across all of them:
- New boreholes - water surveys, drilling, casing and development, yield testing and complete installation.
- Equipment and systems - pumps, solar pumping, storage and filtration matched to the water analysis.
- Existing boreholes - servicing, repairs and rehabilitation, including on boreholes drilled by others.
We work on domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural properties. Where the ground suits it and the requirement is modest, we will also tell you that a wellpoint would serve you better than a borehole.
How We Approach a Project
Boreholes go wrong in fairly predictable ways, and most of those ways come down to doing things in the wrong order. Our approach is built around avoiding that:
- Assess before drilling. Access, services, geology and prospects, honestly discussed - including when a site looks unpromising.
- Test before specifying. Yield testing determines pump selection. Water analysis determines filtration. Neither is a step to skip.
- Construct properly. Casing suited to the depth, screening suited to the formation, a proper sanitary seal, and enough time allowed for development.
- Quote scope by scope. Itemised, so you can see what you are paying for and compare it against anyone else.
- Hand over the data. Formation log, test report and commissioning readings, so future work starts from records rather than guesswork.
What We Will Not Tell You
Some things are worth stating plainly, because the industry does not always state them:
We cannot guarantee that a borehole will find water. Geophysical siting improves the odds and is worth doing, but it reads indirect signals from the surface, and dry holes happen - particularly in fractured hard rock. We cannot predict yield before drilling and testing, and we cannot predict water quality at all until a sample has been analysed. Yield and quality are unrelated: a strong borehole can produce water needing treatment, and a modest one can produce excellent water.
We also will not tell you that every property suits a borehole. Access, available space, existing services and local geology rule some sites out, and saying so is more useful to you than quoting for work that should not go ahead.
Where We Work
We cover Cape Town and the surrounding Western Cape. Geology varies considerably across the metro - Table Mountain Group sandstone on the mountain slopes and Peninsula, Malmesbury shales through the northern suburbs, granite around Paarl and parts of the Peninsula, and the sandy Cape Flats aquifer across the plain between them. That variation drives depth, drilling method, casing requirements and cost, which is why a site-specific assessment matters more than a general rule for the area.
Send your address with your enquiry and we will confirm coverage and give you a realistic sense of what to expect in your area.
